From the Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Week Three of the term presents two wonderful opportunities for both spiritual and experiential learning: the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Year 4 Camp to Sovereign Hill.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a significant moment in our student’s spiritual development, offering them a chance to experience God’s grace and reflect on the values of forgiveness, honesty, and compassion. Please keep our candidates and their families in your thoughts and prayers during this special time.
Our Year 4 students are heading off on an exciting adventure to Sovereign Hill. This is more than just a camp—it's a step back in time that brings history to life, offering students a rich, immersive experience of the Gold Rush era. We look forward to hearing the great camp stories and possibly striking it rich in the Goldfields.
Please ensure that you read through the newsletter this week as we have a lot to share. We are excited to launch our Mother's Day Afternoon Tea for Monday 12th May. Our Afternoon Tea features guest speaker Eve Drew who will present the "The Overflowing Cup - Caring for yourself in the midst of the everyday juggle" before sharing an afternoon cuppa and visiting classrooms to engage in Mum centred activities. Please view the invites within the newsletter to find out more.
Warm regards,
Darren Lloyd

Staff Update

Claire Powling has commenced her maternity leave, and we wish her well with the impending birth of her third child.
This week we are excited to officially welcome Troy Tampion to the St Patrick’s Family, coming on board to teach Year 3/4B with Anna Baker. Troy was very impressed with St. Patrick's very welcoming family environment that made him feel like he belonged. Both staff bring a wealth of teaching experience and enthusiasm to our team. I know planning and collaboration has already begun between Anna and Troy in building on Claire’s wonderful classroom environment. Welcome Anna and Troy.
Uniform Updates

Our School Advisory Council (SAC) is beginning work on updating our uniform policy to provide clear and consistent guidelines for families regarding uniform expectations.
As we move into Term 2, we would like to clarify the following:
- Students may wear either the summer or winter uniform throughout the year.
- Shorts and dresses are permitted in Terms 2 and 3.
During 2025, students may wear the old uniform, the new uniform, or a combination of both.
Grade 6 students are permitted to wear their Year 6 shirts on Fridays, excursions, camps, representative days, and Grade 6 hats during Terms 1 and 4, or whenever hats are required.
All students must wear either the maroon broad-brimmed hat or bucket hat when outdoors during Terms 1 and 4, and at other times during Terms 2 and 3 when UV levels are above 3.
Socks must be plain white or navy, with no logos or branding.
Shoes must be all black school or running shoes, with no coloured panels or laces.
In 2025 students are permitted to wear coloured runners on their PE day.
We appreciate your support in helping maintain high standards for our school uniform.
